One of my favorite food-oriented journalists, Michael Pollan, is publishing a new essay this Sunday on the New York Times Magazine called "Out of the Kitchen, Onto the Couch." Pollan talks about how cooking has changed from what used to be -- a daily practice -- to what it is today -- something we watch other people do on TV. The article is fascinating, but sad.
